Postcards from the Future Past (Mixer)
Facilitator: Anne Rab
Level: Advanced
Cost: €80
Date: Saturday March 28
Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm (with 1 hr lunch break at 1:00pm)
This is an advanced-level workshop culminating in a Thursday evening performance. You'll perform alongside other advanced narrative improvisers under the teacher’s direction. Application required: see our FAQ for how applications work. Max 9 participants.
In this immersive improvisation workshop, performers will explore how time, memory, and imagination can transform a single setting into an entire universe. Over the course of the workshop, participants will develop the skills and instincts to create vivid, interconnected scenes that span different time periods— past, present, and future — all unfolding in one evolving location. Through ensemble exercises, sensory work, and collaborative worldbuilding, we’ll discover how to weave emotional continuity across eras, finding echoes between characters, themes, and moments.
About Anne Rab
Anne Rab has been working as an actor, director, and theatre educator since 2010 in Leipzig, Germany. She is part of the leadership team of Momenta, the international festival for improvisation in Leipzig, and a long-standing member of Theaterturbine.
In 2017, Anne moved to Vienna, Austria, where she continues to teach, direct, and perform regularly within the Viennese improv community. Her passion for improvisation began more than 15 years ago in a clown ensemble that created wordless stories—a foundation that continues to inspire her work today. She remains deeply fascinated by the exploration of non-verbal improvisation and teaches bodywork to actors, improvisers, and anyone eager to discover and learn through movement.
